CHAPTER 49: TRIS
Tris battles the death serum from inside of the Weapons Lab. The gaseous serum surrounds her, and it tries to lull her sleep. The pain is beyond agonizing. She fights an internal monologue, a voice inside her head, which tells her to give up.
Fighting the weight of the painful serum, she is able to push herself onwards. She recalls her purpose, the people that she will be helping. Her desire to succeed is a “fire” that begins to rage inside of her. This fire gives her the power to continue through a set of new doors. The air is fresh in this new room and she begins to recover; however, she is greeted by David.
