CHAPTER 11: TRIS
Tris and Tobias are still on the train with the others. They reach their jumping point and everybody gets off. Once on the ground Tris is reacquainted with Christina and Uriah.
Caleb tries to run off, but Tobias is able to catch him. Christina jokes around saying that a “Nose” isn’t fast enough to escape Tobias. Christina has to explain her joke: Erudites are “knows” because they “know” a lot, so somehow this turned into their nicknames, “Noses.” Caleb, a “nose,” is too slow to run away.
Tori is ahead of them and she becomes the leader of the pack. The group is going towards Johanna’s awaiting trucks.
Suddenly, gunshots are fired and Tori is shot. The group disperses admits the chaos. Tris makes her way to Tori who is dying on the floor. Tris is approached by a factionless woman. Luckily, Tris is able to use her gun and shoot her.
Tris, then, makes her way to a truck that happens to hold Johanna and Christina. They are on their way to look for the others. Tris explains that Tori is dead. Johanna is a bit stunned by the news.
Johanna continues driving to other awaiting trucks. The others have found their way there already. Tris sees Cara, Peter, Caleb, Uriah, and most importantly, Tobias.
