Tobias goes into the control center to spy on his parents in Chicago. Evelyn is at a meeting with some of her higher ups. Marcus, though, is nowhere to be found.
Cara comes by and makes conversation with Tobias. Tobias explains how he likes to keep tabs on his dangerous parents.
Unexpectedly, Cara notices something on the screens. The Allegiant have gathered an army and they are making a move on Evelyn and the factionless. People begin to gather to watch the screens. Cara explains that the Allegiant want the city to go back to how it was before. They want the factions back in place. What they’re watching now is a raid on a building that stores weapons.
Tobias recognizes a few faces, such as Zeke, Marcus, and Johanna. Johanna is surprisingly going against her faction’s beliefs and she’s wielding a gun.
Tobias admits to himself that even though everything going on in Chicago is just an orchestrated experiment, he’s still impacted by what he sees. Chicago is still his home and he’s just sitting around watching as it collapses onto itself.
