CHAPTER 13: TRIS

When they are pretty far from the city, Robert and Johanna drop of the group and head back towards Chicago. The group makes their way to train tracks. They decide to use the tracks as their marker to follow. On the track is the ruins of an old train that is quite different than the trains they’re used to (e.g. it has seats).

Tris is intrigued by all the new sights they see in this new rubble. She likes the advertisements she sees.

The group is met by a black truck that holds a male driver and a female companion. The woman comes out to talk to them. She introduces herself as Zoe and she introduces the driver as Amar. They are stunned to learn that this Amar is the same person who once trained Tobias and was thought dead.
Zoe, then, calls Tris by her nickname. Tris is stunned at this since there’s no way this stranger could have known her name. Zoe shares a picture she has of Tris’ mother and a few other people. She tells them that they can explain everything later.

The group debates on what they should do. Alas, they have no real choice but to go with Zoe and Amar.
