CHAPTER 12: TOBIAS
Tobias was nearly struck by a bullet, but luckily it just passed over his skin. The others are okay. They get into two trucks, one still driven by Johanna and the other driven by Robert.
They get a move on in the trucks. As they drive, Tobias notices all the rubble around him. He now understands that these cities and structures must have been destroyed to create an area for the Amity.
The caravan makes its way past an area marked with X’s. This is the area that nobody was allowed to go passed.
As they push forward, Johanna explains that each faction has their own special serum that each does different things. The Abnegation had a memory serum that could get rid of memories. People who made it too far beyond the fence were given the serum to forget what they saw.
The group stays quiet for a while as they drive away from Chicago.
