CHAPTER 9: TOBIAS
Tobias reflects on the fact that he will be leaving the next day with the Allegiants. He watches as his friends leave the Allegiant meeting site, and he decides to stay behind to spend some alone time with Tris.
The two discuss the mixed feelings that Tris has about Caleb. She wants him to be punished for his betrayal; however, she doesn’t want to see her only sibling killed. Tobias can relate since he’s had similar feelings about Marcus.
Tris admits that she wants to help him just like her parents would have. Tobias agrees to help out. He will break him out so that he can join them on their journey beyond the fence.
The chapter ends with kisses and some major canoodling between the two.
