Inside the Maze, the Thomas notices that everything is the same as the previous day. The walls are in their same spots.
As they explore, Thomas hears Teresa speaking to him telepathically. She lets him know that they have a few more words done. Thomas is finally able to speak back to her through his mind. Even though they are separated by distance, they still can communicate in this odd manner.
Thomas continues running with Minho, as his telepathic conversation with Teresa also continues. She reveals that somebody must have wired them to be able to talk in this manner. Moreover, she knows that they are connected by something grand that they once did. Teresa stops their conversation short since it seems to give them both bad headaches.
Minho and Thomas continue exploring. They explore their section from top to bottom with no luck. Come midnight, they finally run into a Griever at some distance. It just ignores them, as does the next Griever. Minho thinks the Creators are messing with them.
Discouraged, the two boys begin making their way back to the Glade.
