Gally starts speaking a bunch of crazy talk. He says that the Grievers will only kill one person a night because of the Variables. He also says that the Maze can’t be solved and that everything is Thomas’ fault.

Gally hits Thomas only to be pushed away by Newt. Then, Gally begins to break away the boards that seal the room’s window shut. When Newt tries to stop him, he strikes him with a board. Newt is knocked to the ground.

Gally continues his odd babble. He says that Thomas shouldn’t want to go back “home.” Then, as a Griever begins to tear at the window and outside wall, Gally flings himself at the creature. There’s no saving Gally now.

At a quick pace, the Griever takes Gally away. Thomas peeks outside to watch as it leaves into the Maze, followed by the other Grievers. He’s shocked to see somebody else, a boy, running after them. It’s Minho.
