Soon enough, Thomas finds himself in the one-roomed jailhouse. Newt brings up how important order is again just as he locks Thomas inside.

The first few hours are incredibly boring. At noon, though, Chuck comes around with food and plenty of chit chat. He brings Thomas up to speed on what’s been happening: Gally is still gone, Alby is back in action, and Newt is happy he’s not the boss anymore.

Chuck begins to randomly speak of how homesick he is. Although he has no clue where he’s from, he doesn’t want to be in the Glade. He also begins to wonder if he has parents somewhere who miss him. Thomas is angry at the thought of Chuck being so young and away from his loved ones. He wonders who could be so cruel as to do this to kids like Chuck.
