INSURGENT -- CHAPTER 35
Tris wakes up and gets dressed in black clothing that was provided. She mimics her father’s prayers that she once observed him doing.
Soon, she finds herself being escorted away by Peter. Peter is kind enough to bring her to Tobias’ cell where they are able to stare at each other through a small window at his door. They’re not able to actually talk but they do place their hands at the window while they look at each other.
Tris leaves and is taken through a hallway lined with Dauntless traitors. The Dauntless traitors make fists and hit the walls in unison as she passes through. It seems that they are offering her their condolences and their respect through the pounding.
Finally, Tris reaches the same metal table that Jeanine first showed her when she got there. She lies down and is hooked up to a heart monitor. Jeanine injects her with a serum and soon she stops hearing the sound of the heart monitor. She has truly become a stiff.
