INSURGENT -- CHAPTER 32
Tris is back in her cell. She is trying to come to terms with the fact that her brother served as a spy for the Erudites. He betrayed her by giving Jeanine a bunch of information; for example, it was Caleb who must have told Jeanine about her aptitude test results.
Her thoughts are interrupted by Peter. He comes with food and he has been told to take her to get a shower. On their way to the showers, Tris sees Tobias and Dauntless escorts in the same hallway. They’ll pass each other just like before.
As they come close to each other, Tobias uses his Dauntless skills to steal a gun from one of his escorts. Peter jumps out of the way and Tris is forced down with him. Tobias must overwhelm his escorts because he is soon at Peter with a gun. Peter is forced to release Tris.
Tobias and Tris make their way down a hall. Tris assumes that they’re trying to get away from the Erudites; however, Tobias has another plan. He wants to figure out where the control room is so when they come back for an attack they’ll know where to go to turn off any mind-controlling transmitters. They run until they find the control room. Then, they hid in a closet.
Finally, Tobias reveals the plan. The Dauntless, some Abnegation, and the factionless have teamed up and they plan to attack the Erudite compound in two weeks. Until then, Tobias thoughtfully makes it clear that Tris must survive.
