Katniss is forced to watch helplessly as the makeshift hospital crumbles to the ground. With the image still haunting her, the group makes their way back to a hovercraft where Katniss passes out.

Katniss wakes up back at District Thirteen by her mother’s side in the hospital. Katniss’ mom is upset that she wasn’t told of Katniss’ whereabouts.

Katniss has sustained an injury to her leg and now she’s in a wheelchair.

Shortly after speaking to her mother and after getting herself some food, she wheels herself to the Command where a meeting is about to take place. There, she’s met by her camera crew: Cressida, the director; Messalla, Cressida’s assistant; and Castor and Pollux, the two cameramen who happen to be brothers. Slowly, others trickle in.

Coin begins the meeting and she lets everybody know that the propo, the commercial, they pieced together starring Katniss has begun to air. Next, the group gets to view the propo. It begins with a spark on the screen that transforms into fire; then, Katniss appears and her speech from yesterday in which she critiques the Capitol’s ruthlessness for destroying the District Eight hospital plays. Intermingled in the propo are shots of Katniss and Gale destroying the enemy planes.

The group is very pleased with the propo. It has already aired everywhere but for the Capitol.

Coin isn’t too pleased with the fact that Katniss was sent out into combat. Apparently, Coin hasn’t been told that Katniss’ bodyguards tried to stop her from joining the fight. Instead, Coin has been mistaken to believe that Katniss’ involvement in the fight was a decision that came from Plutarch or Boggs.

Coin’s next subject of conversation is what the next propos will consist of. Cressida expresses her ideas in which more of the recent footage of Katniss could be used. Fulvia also suggests that they use deceased tributes in another propo to help fuel the people’s anger.

The meeting concludes, Katniss heads off to rest up, and Gales heads off to see Beetee.

Katniss awakens and Haymitch is by her side. Earlier in District Eight, Katniss purposefully disobeyed orders when she went up to the top of the rooftop to join the fight against the hoverplanes. When she did so, she also took out the earpiece from which Haymitch was communicating with her. Now, Haymitch has returned with the earpiece and a warning. If she pulls such a stunt again, Haymitch will shackle headgear to her head that will force an earpiece to stay on no matter what. Katniss tells him that she will comply and he leaves.

Later, Finnick comes to visit her. Together, they watch the new propos that air on television, and then they watch a new Caesar Flickerman interview that is airing with Peeta. Peeta is physically in pretty bad shape. Flickerman asks him his opinion on the Katniss’ propos. He confesses that he believes that Katniss is ignorant of what is really going on in the war. Peeta also has a few words to say directly to Katniss: become aware of the people you’re working with, realize how dangerous your involvement is, and work towards peace before all of us are destroyed.

Finnick suggests that they pretend that they never watched this recent interview. That way, they can ignore any concern that comes from the District Thirteen authorities.

Moments later, when Plutarch and Fulvia come in to visit Katniss, Finnick and Katniss cleverly conceal the fact that they watched Peeta.
