At the Capulet’s house, Paris has come by to speak to Juliet’s daughter. Capulet lets him know that Juliet hasn’t come down from her room tonight, following her cousins death. Her mother, though, will ask her what she thinks of Paris tomorrow.

Before Paris leaves, Capulet promises Paris Juliet’s hand in marriage. They decide to have her married by Thursday. The current day is Monday, so they’ll have some time to prepare.
