Andrew Ender Wiggin.
The main character in Ender’s Game is Andrew Ender Wiggin. Ender has a difficult life at home since he lives with a ruthless brother, Peter, and since he is teased for being the third child of a family (families are normally only allowed to have two children). His whole life changes, however, when he is taken by the International Fleet to be trained as a leader.

Peter Wiggin.
The older brother of Ender, Peter is a sharp but cruel individual. He uses the name Locke to gain power and influence on the net. Later, he is able to rise to major political power.

Valentine Wiggin.
The middle child in Ender’s family, Valentine is sharp, manipulative, and extremely kind hearted. She is the sibling that Ender most relates to, understands, and loves. She also is there for Ender whenever he’s ready to give up.

Colonel Graff.
Colonel Graff is in charge of the Battle School that Ender attends. He is, at times, kind to Ender; but for the most part, Graff manipulates Ender and pushes Ender to the brink of the boy’s own sanity. It is Graff’s hope that his strict tactics will help mold Ender into the leader he needs to be.

Major Anderson.
Major Anderson is one of the leaders at Battle School that helps prepare the boys. Many of the scenarios that are devised at the school have been planned by Anderson. Graff tells Anderson what to do in regard to Ender’s training.

Bernard.
Bernard is quick to make an enemy out of Ender. Ender accidently breaks Bernard’s arm on the shuttle trip to Battle School. Later, as a response to Bernard’s bullying, Ender taunts him through the school’s desk computer-system. Towards the end of the book, Bernard sides with Bonzo against Ender.

Bonzo Madrid.
Bonzo is in charge of the Salamander Army. Ender is under his command for a while, but he is quickly traded to another army. Later, Bonzo becomes Ender’s top enemy. Bonzo even conspires to kill Ender, but things do not go as planned for him.

Alai.
Alai was originally part of the group that Bernard led. Nonetheless, Ender is able to befriend him. As both boys grow in Battle School, Alai remains one of Ender’s closest and dearest allies.

Bean.
Bean is a younger version of Ender. He is incredibly bright, creative, and he is even critical of authority. He is put in charge of a toon by Ender in the Dragon Army. Bean befriends Ender and is there for him until they leave Battle School together. Later, Bean reappears at Command School where he helps Ender with the buggers.

Petra.
Petra befriends Ender when Ender enters the Salamander Army. She sticks up for Ender, warns Ender when things are going sour, and later becomes one of Ender’s commanders.

Shen.
She is one of the first launchies that Ender befriends. He appears at the end again to work alongside Ender.

Mazer Rackham.
Mazer Rackham was the key figure in beating the buggers during the Second Invasion. Following the Second Invasion, the International Fleet kept him alive through relativistic travel (traveling really fast in a ship in order to slow time). Now, he is still around to help teach Ender the last things that he needs to know to defeat the buggers.

Dap.
A teacher at the Battle School, Dap is there to care for the launchies. He’s a big-brother type who looks out for the well-being of the boys.

Rose the Nose.
Rose the Nose is the leader of the Rat Army. Ender is traded to the Rat Army after being on Bonzo’s Salamander Army.

Dink Meeker
When Ender enters the Rat Army, he is put in a toon led by Dink. Dink, ironically, does not believe in a bugger threat; later, though, he helps lead Ender’s armies against the buggers.

General Pace.
General Pace enters the picture when Dap warns him and his International Fleet military police that Ender’s life is in danger at Battle School. Pace asks Graff to protect Ender, but Graff does not listen to him.

Admiral Chamrajnagar.
Chamrajnagar is in charge of the Command School on Eros.

Carn Carby.
Carn is one of the most decent boys and army leaders that Ender encounters at Battle School. He is good-hearted and treats Ender well, even though Ender beats his Rabbit Army.

Crazy Tom.
Crazy Tom is part of Ender’s Dragon Army as a toon leader. Later, he becomes a squadron leader for Ender during the Third Invasion.
